2017 Student Art Exhibition Thank you
1 week, 2 days ago
Dear Art Enthusiasts!
Last Wednesday evening, the C3 Gallery unveiled a student art exhibition, for the second year in a row. Thirty-seven students from Coronado High School have work on display in the gallery until October 25. Over 150 parents, family, friends, commissioners, local artists, and our City Manager attended an Artists Reception to support our young artists.
I’d like to extend a big thank you with heart felt gratitude to the dedicated teachers, Karrie Jackson, Anna Woerman, Laura Hill, Riana Bucceri, Kelly Telebrico and Ken Heskastad, who encouraged their students, organized the submissions, designed the exhibition and mounted the outstanding works of art in the gallery cases. I would also like to thank Dianne Agarwal and Christine Haddaway, as well as the many parents, for organizing the delicious reception food and drinks in addition for the set up and decorations for the reception in the Nautilus Room.
As Visual Arts Commissioner for the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission, I am continually impressed with the quality of art produced by local artists and exhibited at our C3 Gallery. I encourage you to visit and enjoy this wonderful exhibition of student art before October 25 and to mark your calendars to attend the next exhibition, “Portraits, Places & Things,” scheduled to open with an Artists Reception on November 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. All receptions are free and open to the public.
The Coronado Community Center Art Gallery also known as the the C3 Gallery established in November 2015 during the City of Coronado’s 125th Celebration, features the artwork of local artists. The gallery was created through grants from the City of Coronado, the Coronado Woman’s Club, the Coronado Art Association and private donations from 53 private donors. The gallery is located in the west wing off the lobby of the Coronado Community Center at 1845 Strand Way in Coronado California. It is comprised of three cabinets for the display of 2D and 3D art. The C3 Gallery exhibitions are a program of the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission and fulfills a top priority for the CAC to establish local venues for on-going art exhibitions by community artists.
