The Coronado Cultural Arts Commission (CAC) is calling active and retired military artists and/or their immediate family with a connection to Coronado to submit artwork for
This exhibition will celebrate the artistic creativity of Coronado’s military community. The exhibition will coincide with the Coronado Island Film Festival which is celebrating their opening in the Nautilus Room adjacent to the C3 Gallery the evening of November 9 during the Veterans Day Weekend.
The C3 Gallery, located in the Coronado Community Center at 1845 Strand Way in Coronado, is comprised of three areas to exhibit work of various media, including paintings, photography, pottery, sculpture, and glass, etc. The galley accommodates 48 linear feet of 2-D hanging work and has an eight-foot cabinet with adjustable glass shelves for 3-D art.
To participate, artists must be 18 years or older and be active or retired military artists and/or their immediate family with a connection to Coronado. All artwork must be original and the work of the registered applicant. Work must relate to the established theme and the overall dimensions of submitted work
Application deadline is 5 p.m. on September 15, 2018. Selected artists will be notified by October 1, 2018, and must be able to deliver artwork for installation in late October and attend the Artist Reception scheduled for Wednesday, November 7,
