Armchair Travel - Let's Talk Turkey!
Presented by Coronado Recreation Department
Tuesday, July 18, 2017
Coronado Community Center 1825 Strand Way Coronado, CA 92118
Armchair Travel meets at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month in the beautiful Nautilus Room of the Coronado Community Center, 1845 Strand Way. Refreshments are served from 6 - 6:45 p.m., when our speaker will begin their presentation. This is a wonderful opportunity for community members to meet old friends and make new acquaintances with whom they share a common interst in travel. The Cty charges $5 admission, fee, payable at the Community Center front desk.
This month July Armchair Travel will take us to legendary Turkey. Local residents Debby and Pat Callahan will be sharing tales of their trip to Istanbul, Pergamum, Ephesus, the Turquoise Coast and Cappadocia. They will highlight important but perhaps little known facts about Turkey's ancient civilizations - the Hittite, Greek, Roman, Christian, and Ottoman civilizations through to the modern republic - that give Turkey such a rich past and fascinating present. Join us for what promises to be another fascinating evening of adventure at Armchair Travel.
