Summer Festival 2018- Bones of My Grandfather

In partnership with Bay Books, the library will host author Clay Bonnyman Evans who will speak about the search for the remains of his Marine grandfather who died while leading a successful assault on Japanese fortifications on Tarawa. Bonnyman's remains, along with those of hundreds of other Marines, were hastily buried and lost to history following the battle, and it would take an extraordinary effort by a determined group of dedicated civilians to find him.

*Book sale & signing reception to follow.
