The Coronado Public Library will be hosting a very special performance by noted pianist Richard Glazier, who will present Great Music from the Stage and Screen i the Winn Room on Saturday, June 17 at 7 p.m. Come join Glazier for this unique view of Broadway and Hollywood show business through its music and stories. Glazier explores the history of Broadway musicals, Hollywood films and television by weaving together piano performances, celebrity clips and commentary. Glazier's performance in "From Broadway to Hollywood" was broadcast as a popular PBS show. He returns to the Coroando Library by popular demand. Tickets are required but are free and may be picked up at the front desk at the Coronado Library.
As a nine year old Glazier began writing Ira Gershwin letters about how he loved the Gershwin brothers' musicals. By age 12, Ira had invited him to his Beverly Hills home where he was honored to play on the late George Gershwin's own piano. He has been a life-long fan of the Gershwins' mujsic ever since. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and in venues around the country.
This event is part of the Coronado Public Library's Summer Festival, sponsored by the Hotel del Coronado and the Friends of the Library.
