About the Artist

Susan Bartsch teaches adults and children 12 years and up.

She was raised in New York and attended St. John's University, the Roslyn School of Painting and C. W. Post University where she became skilled in oil painting, acrylics, charcoal, watercolor, pen and ink, and drawing the human form.

Traveling throughout Europe and the Virgin Islands has become Susan's inspiration for creating beautiful landscapes and vistas featuring light and color from the world around her.

Susan has lived on Coronado with her family for over twenty years where she continues to be active in the art community. She studied oil painting under Sandy Hayen for over 15 years strengthening her skills in composition, technique, and color.

Susan's work has been featured in multiple galleries and recognized at the Foothills Art Association in La Mesa. Participation in the Coronado Flower Show's Florals by Locals Exhibition has always been a highlight of hers.

Sharing her love for the arts has been her passion over the past seven years as she instructs beginner as well as advanced students in acrylic and oil mediums. Her classes often become a community of interesting local women who share their journey in both life and painting. She is thrilled to have many students actively engaged in the Coronado local art community.

Most recently, Susan was selected by the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission to participate in the 2018 Coronado Celebrates Local Artists Banners Program.
