About the Artist
Tina Christiansen is a water media artist who is fascinated with the play of light on the human figure, the earth, and the sea. Tina's watercolor and acrylic paintings exhibit a strong sense of color, composition, and form. She is a registered architect who resides in Coronado, California. She holds a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of Florida.
She has been painting professionally for 30 years. She is currently the resident artist at the Hotel Solamar in San Diego, located at Sixth and J Street in the Gas Lamp District of downtown San Diego, where her work is exhibited. She was recently featured in a one-woman show at the City of Solana Beach Art Gallery in California. Her work has been published in Rock and Ice Magazine and exhibited at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. She is currently working on her impressions of underwater coral reef sea scenes.
She owned and operated the Tina Christiansen Art Gallery in Coronado until 2011 where she taught art and exhibited the work of local artists.
