When Einar Escoto wrote a memoir about his experiences coming out as a transgender man, it was called a “stunning piece of art from beginning to end,” one that “empowers all of us to breathe more of our own air into our own lives.” As a Filipino artist who has performed spoken word poetry for over 15 years and the recipient of the 2022 Breakthrough Workshop Theatre Debut of the Year Award, Einar will use the “BWT in Development” process to workshop and perform a new theatrical adaptation of The Woman Inside of Me, showcasing the struggles, triumphs, and breakthroughs he’s had along the way.
