Coronado Island Film Festival presents a special Veterans weekend event that includes the screening of "Lone Survivor," the 2013 film that recounts an ill-fated reconnaissance mission in Afghanistan. This past summer, rising junior Lydia Mellor attended three performance camps at Brigham Young University. One of them was an A Capella camp, and they just released a video of their performance (click link below). Lydia has the lead vocals in this performance. September 11 to 17 is National Arts Education Week as designated by the US Congress. This provides the opportunity to reflect on how important arts education is to the development of children and to celebrate the excellent opportunities that exist in Coronado. The Coronado Cultural Arts Commission invites you to participate in the 3rd Annual Coronado Writers Workshop and inspire your writing. The Commission continues to support the literary arts in our comunity with its third annual Writers Workshop on Saturday, October 15. The workshop will feature a day of nine sessions, eight presenters, and a keynote address by award winning author Robert Masello.
