This Father’s Day, the Hotel Del Coronado is presenting a BBQ and concert on The Del’s scenic North Beach in support of the Gary Sinise Foundation. Please find attached a presentation made to the Ad Hoc Senior Advisory Committee by the Public Art Working Team of the Cultural Arts Commission on recommendations for public art in the new John D. Spreckels Center. Please note this presentation summarizes the 24 months of work that has been done to research public art for the facility. The presentation contains recommendations which will be presented to the Coronado Recreation Committee. The recommendations will also be considered by the Cultural Arts Commission at their July 7, 2016 public meeting and a determination will be made by the Commission whether to forward this recommendation to the City Council. The Cultural Arts Commission meetings are publically noticed and complete agendas are available for review online or at the Coronado Public Library 72 hours prior to the meeting.Read more›
For ten years, Musica Vitale , a classical vocal ensemble, has been bringing outstanding professional singing to Coronado and San Diego. This month the non-profit singing group is celebrating its tenth anniversary of performing beautiful music, with a concert and reception Friday, June 17th, 7 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church in Coronado. The ensemble, part of the Coronado Cultural Arts Association, is made up of opera singers and other professional voices, and highlights Romantic classical music, sung a capella.Read more›
