CALL FOR VISUAL ARTISTS: ART EXHIBITION & SALE AT CELEBRATE OZ!
The Coronado Cultural Arts Commission presents the second annual Celebrate OZ! Festival - Because there’s no Place Like Home on Saturday, October 17 from 10 am to 3 pm. A free community festival in Spreckels Park in beautiful Coronado, Celebrate OZ! is set to be an engaging and entertaining day filled with children’s activities, music, and art.
Sponsored by Del Coronado Realty, Celebrate Oz! is part of the 2015 Wizard of Oz Weekend and an official Coronado’s 125 Anniversary Celebration. Celebrate Oz! recognizes Coronado’s unique connection with author L. Frank Baum and is an opportunity to celebrate the creativity and wisdom in this treasured children’s book series.
The day will be filled with creativity and we’re looking for visual artists who live or work in Coronado to display and sell their work. This “Art Under the Umbrellas” event will be part of Celebrate OZ! in Spreckels Park. “Art Under the Umbrellas” is a program of the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission. The shows are held in public venues and are organized to create opportunities for Coronado artists to show and sell their work.
There is no fee for application to participate in this event. Display space will be assigned based upon the qualifications noted on the application, availability, and in the order of priority by date that the completed applications are received. The art on display should be appropriate for viewing by all ages.
Artists will need to provide their own display easels or tables, chair, and umbrellas. The display, artwork, and umbrellas must be installed/designed to prevent overturning in the wind without stakes or attachment to park land or equipment. The display shall fit within a maximum space of 10 ft. x 10 ft. as assigned by the Arts Coordinator.
Applicants will need to fill out an application. To request an application, please contact Kelly Purvis,
