CORONADO, CA (February 6, 2017) -- The Coronado Cultural Arts Commission (CAC) is calling local artists to submit artwork with a floral theme for inclusion in an exhibition and sale of art in the 2017 Coronado Flower Show to be held the weekend of April 8-9. Back by popular demand, the Commission will once again mount an exhibition, Florals by Locals, to highlight the work of local artists at the annual community flower show. This year artists may offer their work for sale.
To participate, artists must be 18 years or older and qualify as one of the following: 1) a resident of Coronado 2) an employee, teacher or property owner in Coronado, or 3) an operator of a gallery in Coronado. All artwork must be original and the work of the registered applicant. Work must be a floral or have a floral theme and the size of work is not to exceed 24” x 36” including the frame.
We are seeking artists to volunteer and perform art demonstrations in the Florals by Locals booth during the Flower Show; you may bring paints and an easel and paint on site during a scheduled time. To sign up to demonstrate, contact Kelly Purvis, Contract Arts Administrator at email@example.com or 619.522.2633. Artists may submit two pieces of artwork to display based on space available. Applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
To register visit the Florals by Locals Call to Artists at Artcall.org
Application deadline is 5 p.m. on March 31. The fee is waived if artist volunteers 2 hours to work the exhibit during event. The fee to enter is $20 (non-refundable) to exhibit work only.
We encourage artists to submit early as exhibition space and volunteer opportunities are limited. Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
