"Color Me Coronado" is a free event being held on Sunday May 22,  at the Winn Room of the Coronado Public Library from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for children ages 5-10 and their caregivers. “Color Me Coronado” Coloring Book along with a water color kit is sponsored by the Coronado Art Association celebrating its 75th Anniversary and the City of Coronado Library. The coloring books and watercolor kits will be given out first come first serve, at the event, while supplies last. Live entertainment will also be a part of the childrens creative experience, as three CoSA ballerinas will dance a Fairy Tale Ballet with lit wings, in the Winn Room  to the classical piano improvisation compositions of pianist Marcus Echols Booth, pianist. The Coronado School of the Art “Fairy Tale Ballet”  Performers depicted in the attachment above are: Maria Julia Guerra, Bailey Manion, Sienna Pearson. The CoSA Dance Director is Ms. Gina Sorenson  depicted below:

Island Artist Connie Spitzer, the creator of the coloring book, donated the artwork for the limited edition of the free coloring book. She  will be present to sign the coloring books as they are given out to the children.  The Coloring book contains her paintings in full color of various public art installations around town, as well as a few whimsical neighborhood scenes with the scene reproduced in black and white for the children to create their own beautiful paintings on the adjacent page. A water color pencil and brush set is provided for the children to paint their own works of art inside the book.

(The publication and materials costs of the coloring book is made possible in part by the generous support of the  Jim and Bette T. Sherman Fund, the City of Coronado Cultural Arts Commission and the Coronado Community Foundation.
