The City of Coronado has embarked on a yearlong strategic planning process to create a bold vision for the future of arts and culture in our community. Coronado CREATES officially launches to the community in February 2019 but has been in the pre-planning stage for over a year. The Cultural Arts Commission has taken the lead on the project.
Louise Stevens of ArtsMarket in Bozeman, Montana is guiding the City through the process. Ms. Stevens is widely acknowledged to have shaped the field of cultural planning and community cultural needs assessment. The National Endowment for the Arts commissioned her to write the field's standard texts on Cultural Planning and Conducting a Community Cultural Needs Assessment. She has personally led over 200 cultural, heritage, district, and related agency strategic plans with broad community engagement, for municipalities, counties, and states.
The City has established a Coronado Creates page on the CoronadoARTS.com website. For more information please contact the Cultural Arts Commission at CoronadoCreates@gmail.com or 619.522.2633Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
