Through Their Eyes Book Club: Last Man on the Moon2023-03-08T12:00:00Join the Through Their Eyes Book Club in reading The Last Man on the Moon by Eugene Cerman and Don Davis. Eugene Cernan was a unique American who came of age as an astronaut during the most exciting and dangerous decade of spaceflight. His career spanned the entire Gemini and Apollo programs, from being the first person to spacewalk all the way around the Earth to the moment when he left man's last footprint on the Moon as commander of Apollo 17. This autobiography tells his whole story, from wild adventures, to relationships he sacrificed because of his work.
This astronaut story is about the fear, love and sacrifice demanded of the few men who dared to reach beyond the heavens for the biggest prize of all - the Moon.

Coronado Community READ Event: "The Jamie Drake Equation" Book Discussion2023-03-21T15:30:00Discussion of the Coronado Community Read teen/tween selection, The Jamie Drake Equation.
About the book: "Jamie’s dad is an astronaut. This is a good thing – because how cool is that? And a bad thing – because he’s going to be orbiting the Earth for several months and Jamie already misses him badly. Doing his homework at the observation lab one night, Jamie inadvertently picks up a weird signal on his mobile phone. Could it be from an alien civilization with a message for humankind, a message that Jamie has to get to his father before it’s too late? But how do you rescue an astronaut without heading into space yourself?" - Goodreads
Tweens/teens and their adult guests welcome.
