01 Poetry for the People
Poetry for the People2023-03-01T11:00:00This course will feature poems, both historic and contemporary, which enjoy iconic status. These poems, as well as their authors, are acknowledged as widely recognized and admired as having exceptional influence. All class members are encouraged to contribute their ideas and perceptions of the poems, enriching the discussions for everyone in attendance.
Chuck Kamar received his Bachelor’s from Boston State and his Master’s from Boston University. He taught for 34 years in the Newton Public Schools, the last 20 of which at Newton North High School. In 1998 he won the Paul E. Elicker Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Storytelling Institute: Learn the Art of Storytelling!2023-03-07T18:30:00Have you always enjoyed telling stories? Ever considered storytelling in front of an audience? The Storytelling Institute, a free six-week course presented by the Storytellers of San Diego, is open to everyone who would like to hone their skills in this ancient art form. The Institute culminates in a storytelling slot for each participant at the San Diego Storytelling Festival here at the Coronado Public Library on March 18.
Registration is suggested (but not required, nor is attendance at every session). Please register for each session individually. Each session builds on the previous one, so consistent attendance is advised especially if you would like to perform at the San Diego Storytelling Festival culminating event.

Anna Gorman was born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin. Her love for the arts began in her early adolescent years and was nourished throughout adulthood. The inspiration for her creations comes from a love for the natural world as well as her passion for spirituality and the yogic arts. Her media include acrylics, oils, charcoal, and graphite.
When Anna isn’t creating art, she is enriching the minds of the little ones as an early childcare teacher who graduated from San Diego State University. She also loves to teach art to children. Currently, Anna is a graduate student at the University of California, San Diego where she is studying to obtain her teaching credential in Elementary Education. She loves the sun, surfing, and being outdoors.

March Spice It Up, Coronado!2023-03-24T14:30:00Discover a new favorite spice or herb with the Coronado Public Library! Each month, the library invites community members to explore different spices used in dishes around the world. Registrants will pick up the monthly spice/herb selection at the library, cook with it, and join other food enthusiasts to talk about what they made and their thoughts about the spice.
For March we will explore cooking and baking with green cardamom pods and seeds.
The meeting will be held, on Zoom, on Friday, March 24 at 2:30 p.m. The Zoom link will be emailed the day before we meet. Once registered, participants will receive an email about when to pick to pick up their sample of cardamom pods and a couple of recipes.
