March 19th  The Alps in a Corner of Europe

The Alps are the highest and most spectacular mountain range in Europe.  In May/June of last year, Irwin Karp and his wife Ann Bancroft visited and hiked portions of the Alps in Germany (Garmisch-Partenkirchen), in Switzerland (Bern, Murren & Gruyeres), and in Italy (Cogne in the Valle d’Aosta & Lake Orta). Join Irwin as we explore the majesty of the Alps through photos and stories of their hikes and scenic drives.

For those of you who may not know, Armchair Travel meets the second Tuesday of every month - this month on Tuesday, January 15 - at 6:00pm, in the beautiful Nautilus Room of the Coronado Recreation Center, 1845 Strand Way.  Refreshments are served from 6:00-6:45, then the speaker will begin his presentation.  This is a wonderful opportunity for community members and visitors to meet old friends and make new acquaintances with whom they share a common interest in travel.  The city charges a $5 admission fee, payable at the Recreation Center front desk.
