About the artist:

Award-winning broadcast journalist Jane Mitchell is also an accomplished author. Her passion for storytelling stems from growing up in a Navy family in Coronado, traveling the world and being encouraged by her mother, a teacher, to write about her experiences. Mitchell earned degrees in political science and journalism from U.C.S.D. and Northwestern University before starting as a news reporter in Texas and Oklahoma. She returned home to Coronado when her father became ill, where she helped create Channel 4 San Diego, the 15-year home of the Padres. She became best known for her 27-time Emmy Award-winning TV program One on One with Jane Mitchell, in which she gave viewers an in-depth look at San Diego’s top sports figures. In 2010, Mitchell turned her experiences into a book: One on One – My Journey with Hall of Famers, Fan Favorites and Rising Stars. In it, she tells her story of becoming a journalist, of her personal and professional challenges, and of the risks and joys of covering athletes. Mitchell has since launched One on One Productions, building on her brand for professional services including video production, media coaching, speaking, teaching and creative consulting. The Coronado native is also a new mother of a second generation Islander. Learn more about her at http://janemitchelloneonone.com/
